Sonoma Wine Tours - Napa Wine Tours | Incredible Adventures

Why We Love This Tour

“Even if you’re not a wine connnoisseur, this trip has an excellent balance: becoming one with the tallest trees on the planet before visiting a unique mixture of down to earth wineries. I love the flexibility this tour allows as well. We have two massive vine-covered valleys to play around in based on the wines (sparkling or still) you’re interested in tasting. You also have the freedom to eat lunch and dinner around downtown Sonoma Square, the “birthplace of California.”

Itinerary

DAY 1 – SAN FRANCISCO TO SONOMA

We’ll start this two-day adventure with visits to Muir Woods and several wineries in Sonoma Valley. After you’ve tasted your fill at the specially curated selection of wineries, your guide will deliver you to your accommodations at a hotel right near the historic Sonoma Square.

Downtown Sonoma is a visual feast of Franciscan Spanish building structures, which now house a unique selection of fine dining and elegant tasting rooms. History buffs can wander to the Sonoma Mission de Solano to get a snapshot of how the area changed hands, transitioning from the moniker “Valley of the Moon” to the northernmost Spanish mission in California. The rest of the evening is yours to enjoy! You’ll have more time to explore downtown Sonoma’s highlights in the morning before you meet your tour group to continue the decadent wine-tasting schedule.

DAY 2 – SONOMA TO SAN FRANCISCO

It’s just a quick jump to Glen Ellen, where you’ll explore the sprawling Benziger Family Winery on a 45-minute tour from the comfort of a tram. You’ll follow the winemaking process from the vine to the glass, and while you get the inside scoop on their unique biodynamic farming methods, you’ll also get a chance to taste the fruits of their labor. Once you complete the vineyard tour, which includes Benziger’s sister winery, Imagery, we’ll provide a scrumptious picnic lunch.

In the afternoon, we’ll embark on the second half of our tour to a mix-and-match selection of additional tastings in Sonoma and Napa Valley. After you’ve tasted wines to your heart’s desire, we’ll make one more stop to take some pictures by the Golden Gate Bridge before delivering you right back to San Francisco in time to show off your newfound knowledge at dinner– potentially with some expertly selected bottles in tow.

Note: Some activities are not accessible in extreme weather or due to road closures. Every attempt will be made to find comparable activities if these options are not available during your trip.

Sample Itineraries: Please note that due to rapidly changing conditions beyond our control (weather, crowds, traffic) and the small size of our vehicles/groups, we allow our guides the flexibility to tailor your itinerary to best suit the needs of the group. While we guarantee that we’ll do our best to provide you with all of the highlights within this itinerary (conditions permitting), we do not guarantee them in this specific order.

A Lovely 2 Days in Wine Country

“Aaron with Incredible Adventures was our tour guide and driver. He is a San Francisco native and experienced driver. Aaron kept us advised on the pick up time, and was considerate of our personal needs as we made our way from San Francisco into the Sonoma Valley. The wineries were unique in their own way a perfect blend. The restaurant recommendations were amazing in Sonoma and hotel was perfectly sufficient. January is the perfect time for seeing the countryside, visiting with low numbers of tourists, and personalized service. The government shutdown kept us from Muir Woods on Day 1, but given there were just the two of us on Day 2, we gave up wine tasting in the p.m., and Aaron took us to the Woods anyway. Aaron was awesome we had a great time with him. Even driving through the city to our drop off, he gave us a wonderful commentary on the homes and history. Come to San Francisco is January and enjoy the small crowds.”
