I took the Monterey Carmel tour yesterday, it was really worth it. Beautiful sightseeing, superb route. George our driver was very interesting and helpful. I had a great time and do recommend. One word, sit on the right side of the bus as it is easier to take photos, I was on the left but succeeded anyways and took beautiful pictures of the stunning landscape.

8:00pm – 9:00pm:Arrive back at your lodging.

8:00am – 9:00am: Pick up from San Francisco hotels
10:00am –  12:30pm: The sightseeing begins before your first stop as you wind your way between the mountains and the Pacific Ocean on Highway 1, perhaps the most famous and breathtaking highway in the United States. Stop for a bite to eat before arriving at Monterey’s Cannery Row, once the center of the local fishing industry and now a charming walking district full of restaurants, boutiques, and cafes.
12:30pm – 2:30pm: You can spend your time here at the beach, taking in the sights and sounds of the town, or at the world-famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of the nation’s top-rated family attractions. Skip the long lines by buying your tickets ahead of time! Entrance to the Monterey Aquarium is additional $30 and can be added during your booking process.
2:30pm – 4:30pm: 17-Mile Drive takes you through the towns of Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach and on to Carmel!
2:30pm – 4:30pm: 17-Mile Drive takes you by The Lone Cypress, Bird Rock, through the towns of Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach and on to Carmel!
4:30pm – 5:30pm: Stop at the Carmel Plaza, long known for attracting artists like Jack London, Upton Sinclair, Mary Austin, and Ansel Adams. Nowadays the flawless location and internationally-known golf courses of this upscale community draw celebrities and the jet-set crowd – Clint Eastwood even served as mayor for a term!
5:30pm – 8:00pm: Leaving the enchanted coastline behind, fast forward through time as you travel through Silicon Valley, the high-tech capital of the world. You’ll be back in San Francisco full of memories of California’s playground at the edge of the world.

During your free time in Monterey, you too can experience the fun and excitement of this amazing landmark. Watch the playful otters, check out the coastal tidepools, learn about the kelp forests, or see what lurks in the briny deep! With a full research institute on-site and part of the building actually IN the Pacific Ocean, this aquarium is certainly a must-see.
