On our Muir Woods and Sausalito tour, you’ll wander through the ancient groves of coastal redwoods in Muir Woods National Monument and walk along the quaint sidewalks of Downtown Sausalito. Muir Woods is an example of an old-growth redwood forest located only about 30 minutes from downtown San Francisco. You will have an hour and a half to roam through this ‘living museum’ where you can get a glimpse of the towering trees that used to dominate the west coast from Santa Barbara to Washington.
After exploring Muir Woods you will get a 15-20 minute narrated tour through the beautiful seaside Mediterranean-style town of Sausalito and a chance to explore (approx 45 minutes total) before returning to the city across the Golden Gate Bridge. To complete your San Francisco Bay experience, perhaps you’d like to hop off the vehicle in this lovely town and add on a picturesque ferry ride (must be booked in advance) back to San Francisco!
Ferry return is subject to availability at the time of booking. Some tours may be moved to a preferred partner operator or larger vehicle to best accommodate our guests.

Take the ferry back to San Francisco* and spend more time exploring Sausalito at your own pace!

Sausalito is located to the north of the Golden Gate Bridge and began as a hub for car, ferry and rail traffic to reach the city. After World War II, its focus on industry shifted and it is now a wealthy and artistic residential and tourist area. Here you will see houseboats, multi-million dollar homes along the cliffs, and many small boutique shops.
You can add the ferry tickets to your tour, and the driver will drop you off before heading back to the city. Simply choose the PLUS FERRY tour option during the check-out process, and the tickets will be provided to you on the tour.
Taking the ferry back from Sausalito will afford you amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, Alcatraz Island, and the San Francisco city skyline from the north. Don’t forget your jacket, though – it can get chilly out on the bay! You’ll disembark the ferry in the Fisherman’s Wharf/Embarcadero area where you can easily hail a cab or take the cablecar back to your SF hotel.

Yosemite Valley Lodge

Spend the night in the heart of Yosemite Valley at Yosemite Valley Lodge. The hotel is located at the base of Yosemite Falls – the waterfall that inspired its name! The lodge rooms are somewhat larger than “standard rooms”, and open to a patio or a balcony. They have a private bathroom, dressing area, activity table, telephone and television with select programming (no refrigerators). Bedding configurations include one king bed or two double beds. Please note: Yosemite Lodge at the Falls does not have air conditioning in any guest accommodations.

Cedar Lodge along the Merced River

Cedar Lodge is situated in the picturesque Merced River canyon, on the edge of the river in the southern half of the Yosemite National Park area. The lodge has such creature comforts as a restaurant, bar, two swimming pools, a jacuzzi, and private beach access on the Merced River. The river flows cold and heavy in the spring and early summer but is comfortable to swim in during August and September. Room amenities include non-smoking rooms, handicap-accessible rooms, indoor and outdoor pools and spa on site, remote cable TV with CNN and HBO, coffee, hair dryers.

Your Campsite

Our three day camping tour is designed to be comfortable for all levels of camping experience, from first time campers to veteran outdoorspeople. We stay at a campsite with modern facilities and we provide all the equipment necessary to ensure you are well taken care of and have a great time.

This tour offers the full camping experience where group participation is part of the fun! Camp set up is a snap with our easy set-up tents, sleeping pads, and camp stove. The cookout dinner is a group event where everyone helps out, campers take turns cleaning up after meals, and we swap stories by the camp fire.

Campsite amenities include:

• On-site showers with hot water (don’t forget your towel and toiletries)
• Flush toilets

On our Muir Woods and Sausalito tour you can wander through the ancient groves of coastal redwoods in Muir Woods National Monument and walk along the quaint sidewalks of Downtown Sausalito. Muir Woods is an example of an old-growth redwood forest located only about 30 minutes from downtown San Francisco. You will have an hour and a half to roam through this ‘living museum’ where you can get a glimpse of the towering trees that used to dominate the west coast from Santa Barbara to Washington.
After exploring Muir Woods you will get a 15-20 minute narrated tour through the beautiful seaside Mediterranean-style town of Sausalito. From there, you’ll hop off the motorcoach and take a picturesque ferry ride back to San Francisco!
Once you’re back in the city, you can explore the Aquarium of the Bay before it’s time to pick up your Alcatraz tickets for your Alcatraz Night Tour. This tour will give you an exclusive experience of this historic island.

You’ll be picked up from your Las Vegas Hotel around 10am for the start of your trip, and you’ll travel across the Pat Tillman Bypass Bridge into Arizona. Your destination is Willow Beach, where you will load your kayaks, and gear up for your journey on the Colorado river.

Ready to Launch
Kayak past the Fish Hatchery, toward the emergence of a historic trailhead. Take a break and enjoy a short hike with spectacular views. Explore the ruins before returning to the kayaks.

Explore Black Canyon & Emerald Cave
Back on the river, the green waters of Black Canyon flow through a narrow channel, where Emerald Cave is hidden. Paddle inside for a great photo opportunity. Watch for desert big horn sheep, bald eagles, coyotes, and striped bass.

Have a Delicious Lunch
Beyond Emerald Cave and the catwalk sits a sandy beach, where you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch with million dollar views. Take a refreshing swim in the green waters of the Colorado River before kayaking back to Willow Beach. Your day will end around 6pm with a drop off at your Las Vegas Strip hotel.

Ready to Launch
After a short safety briefing and basic paddling instruction, you will get acquainted with your kayak. Once you are on the water, the adventure begins! Your guide will show you unique and hidden places such as Gold Strike Canyon, Lone Palm Canyon, Arizona Hot Springs, Emerald Cave and many other treats. At the Hoover Dam you will take an elevator into the heart of this massive feat of Civil Engineering to learn about the complexities of the dam’s construction and how it operates. On this combination tour, you will visit two of southern Utah’s more popular parks and spend over two hours in each.

6:00am – 7:00am:	Pick up from most Las Vegas Strip hotels
Zion Canyon	Drive east into southern Utah. After passing through Mormon towns such as Huricane and Virgin, we head up into Zion National Park.In the park you will continue along the Virgin River into the heart of the Zion Canyon. The towering sandstone cliffs of Zion Canyon are sure to impress.After two hours in this park, we will head through the high country of Zion towards our next destination, Bryce Canyon National Park.
Bryce Canyon	Once in Bryce, you will enjoy a guided tour to viewpoints such as Sunrise Point and Inspiration Point, where you can admire the landscape of this unique park. You will have approximately two and a half hours to explore.At the end of the day, you will head back to the city and will be dropped off back at your Las Vegas hotel (around 8:00pm).

Basic Itinerary

Standing at the entrance to Death Valley and our first exploration- photo stop on this amazing adventure is the old Ghost Town of Rhyolite, a long abandoned gold mining community and the set for many movies and documentaries. We then drive down a beautiful winding highway and enter the center of Death Valley from the east; this is like landing on Mars, you enter a foreign and strange world of endless desert, vast valleys, harshly sculpted peaks, garish colors, superbly adapted plants and animals – all are visible expressions of geologic time reckoned in millions of years.  The driest, hottest climate imaginable – this is Death Valley; an immense, wild land that man has never tamed.  Capture the view of the valley from Hell’s Gate, well above the valley floor and then we visit Badwater at 282 ft. below sea level. We also enjoy views and stops at Zabriskie’s Point, the Devil’s Golf Course, the Furnace Creek Museum, the Salt Lake, the Sand Dunes and Artists Pallet. The majestic mountains, colorful canyons, volcanic craters and salt pinnacles all make this trip a photographic-sightseers dream come true.

  • Upon payment of your local $110 food/hotel kitty we include breakfast. They’re light breakfasts: muffin, fruit or cereal with tea or coffee.
  • Upon payment of your local $110 food/hotel kitty we include evening meals: your tour guide will suggest menus and help shop for food items. Meals are cooked in camp as a communal effort. You will be expected to help.

[tab title=”ALCATRAZ”]Alcatraz is a must-see for any traveler visiting San Francisco.

Your Alcatraz Island Night Tour ticket will be arranged for the evening of the first day of your two day package (approximately 6:30pm for the night tour).

Taking the ferry to Alcatraz will afford you amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Angel Island, Alcatraz Island, and the San Francisco city skyline from the north. The vessel does a complete circle around the island before docking and includes a guide pointing out different sections/buildings on Alcatraz Island from a vantage point not seen during the day. When you land on the island, you’ll get a short history of Alcatraz, and then head up into the prison!

You’ll be equipped with an audio tour titled “Doing Time”, in which you’ll hear interviews from former inmates and learn more history about Alcatraz (available in 11 languages). The Alcatraz Night Tour also includes special interpretive tours and access to areas of the island that are closed during the day.

You may explore for as long as you want (the ferry departs for the mainland approximately every 30-40 minutes). The tour generally takes people about two and a half hours. Don’t forget your jacket – it can get chilly out on the bay!

• For security purposes, a government-issued photo ID is required for all guests to board the Alcatraz ferry
